In all fairness, it isn't just Richmond. I've recently worked in cities of similar size and demographics---and Richmond isn't the worst. (How sad!)

I have just read too many of the comments, "It should be about education and not how they are dressed." And its terribly obvious that it has never been about the education for them! ... Misspelled words, errors of grammar, people even signing the wrong petition! (There are signatures on the petition in support of the school board with comments that are clearly not in favor! What a shame.)

Ah well, I'm afraid it won't get much better ---for awhile at least.

You are a sane voice of reason. Gets kind of lonely out here, doesn't it?

It really isn't all about the clothes--it's the attitude that's behind it. Those who want to act like that will find ways of disrupting school and acting out regardless of what they are wearing.

Sigh. Oh well. They'll learn (some things) eventually.
