Manual ECU with Automatic Car. Have 92 Accord with 1.8 VTEC. The Installed Engine is From 98 Accord. The transmission is the original which came with 92 accord. This transmission is operated by Kick Down cable and does not have any Main Shaft or Counter Shaft Sensors. During Swap My Car was Given ODB2B Engine hence ECU was replaced. If you think about it, there's quite a bit of difference between how those transmissions operate and by data they send back to ECM. from hondata: "The last 3 characters are broken down into 3 parts. "A" generally is used for US ECUs. "G" is European, and "J" is Japanese. There are other versions of this, but you get the idea. The second digit "0" typically means manual transmission, where a "5" means automatic transmission, and the last digit "1" is the version number." While you're at it, go ahead and unbolt the ecu shield under the passenger's footrest and undo your ecu. Keep in mind to keep all your screws and bolts in multiple Ziploc bags so you don't mix them up and don't lose any either. Now move to your engine bay. Go ahead and disconnect your battery and remove it and the battery tray underneath. ECU (can be modded using second link, or if obd11, just replace with manual ecu) manual cluster (optional) 1 bottle of Honda brake fluid (for clutch) 2x 1L bottle of Honda manual trans fluid (for d16, unsure about others) As for mounts, the first link says you need the rear gearbox mount, but it's exactly the same with auto and manuals. Go underneath the car, and remove the four bolts that connect the automatic shifter to the chassis. Disconnect all of the connectors from the automatic shifter, and remove the screws connecting the shifter from the center console. You can now move on to the engine bay. Figure 6. Center console tabs. Figure 7. Center console screws. I still haven't bought a new engine, but, I did buy enough parts for the cost of a used 7th gen Civic. The interior wiring is all new and the clutch system is all new parts. Everything else is used. Electric Parts list: Sub-Wire, Combination - 32103-S5P-A23. Sub-Wire, Engine Control Module - 32201-S5P-A72. ( We'll use the top ECU in the article mentioned above.) 37820 = The code for ANY/ALL Honda ECU's. P75 = ECU identification per the proper model/motor that this ECU is paired with, P75 being an LS/RS. A = Simply put, America. You'll also run into G (Europe), J (Japan) and C (Canada) 0 = Now this is the golden nugget that we're looking for. Auto to manual swap Just posting a follow up on this. We ended up swapping the ECU for a manual CRV ecu and that solved all of the issues except cruise control but it it has caused a new issue associated with the key immobilizer. We think we have an idea for that but may involve some honda dealer help. Not sure yet on the cruise.
